We’re always looking to add to our TBR lists…so help us out and share what you’ve been reading. Here’s what’s on our night stands (and keeping us up way past our bedtimes) at the Book Hookup:
Celeste: I started Lies Beneath (Lies Beneath #1)by Anne Greenwood Brown. Sooo, this is my first mermaid book. I held off as long as I could, but clearly I am the one missing out! Murder, revenge, and then unexpected romance…..total win! Stay tuned as Ana, Christina and I will be reviewing this together next week
Ana: I started The Shapeshifter’s Secret by Heather Ostler. Julia is a typical sixteen year old with a n overprotective father and the usual teen angst. But, all of a sudden she begins to feel different…angrier and more vicious. She can’t understand her extreme reactions to seemingly normal situations. This is where her adventure begins. She learns of her new abilities and begins to understand that there are family secrets she needs to understand. I’ve just started this book but I’m enjoying it so far.
Christina: I also started Lies Beneath (Lies Beneath #1) by Anne Greenwood Brown this weekend. Also like Celeste, I don’t ever recall reading a book about merpeople, so I knew this would be something new, and I’m pretty pumped about it. Even better, it’s in a male POV and these mermaids aren’t anything like Disney’s Ariel, The Little Mermaid, they’re evil. I’m only about eight chapters in right now, but so far, so good. I like that we didn’t have to do at lot of fishing around (Heehee, did you sea what I did there? I’m shore you did. I shell stop now. ) to get to the meat of the story because it basically begins with the conflict (or at least what I think it is) being disclosed within the first few pages. Also, the cover, ack! It’s so pretty! Be sure to check back in next week for our joint review on what we ended up thinking about it.
So how about you? What’s on your nightstand?
