What Did You Read This Weekend?

Happy Monday, Friends!

Did you get any reading in? We sure did!
Here’s our books, what are you enjoying?

Celeste: Gah, I’m O B S E S S E D. I haven’t been this tingly over a series in a very, VERY, VERY long time. I read the novella Shadows (Lux 0.5) by Jennifer Armentrout.  I can’t get enough of this series. While this wasn’t quite as good as Obsidian (Lux #1), it gave great background on Dawson (Daemon’s brother) and Bethany. Left me with a lot of questions, actually! I can’t wait for Onyx (Lux #2) August 14!!

I also started Sovereign Hope (The Hope Series #1) by Frankie Rose. I will admit, it’s always hard to get into a book after coming down from a series as amazing as Lux, but Ms. Rose has done that! I’m loving the book so far, I have so many questions and only getting a few answers at a time. It’s building up really nicely! I also love any story with romance too, and ooh, oooh, oooh….the one brewing here is going to be really good!

Ana:  Celeste and I are totally obsessed…and for that reason, I’m reading Shadows (Lux 0.5) by Jennifer Armentrout as well.  This novella is actually about Dawson not Daemon (the one that made us all tingly in Obsidian).  I’ve just started it but I’m already convinced I’ve figured something important out! lol  I can’t wait for the second book in this series.  Be on the look out for our Obsidian review soon!!

Amy: After all the flailing from my fellow litbrarians I just HAD to bump Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer Armentrout up to the top of my TBR pile and boy am I so excited I did! I am totally in love with the characters in this series (especially Daemon… Holy sexy badboy batman!) and I LOVE the authors brilliant sense of humor and passion that clearly shines in her writing. Along with Ana and Celeste, I also started Shadows (Lux 0.5), a novella about Daemon’s brother, Dawson. This series is a must read!!

Obsidian - CoverChristina: Well, let me go ahead and add my little Jennifer L. Armentrout fangirl love in here, too! After Ana, Celeste, Amy, and half of the internet twisted my arm (Not really, all they had to do was post a few quotes.), I was all over Daemon like Dee on ice cream (You’ll understand once you’ve read, which you’re absolutely going to go do right now, m’kay?). I knew my girls wouldn’t let me down and they didn’t. There’s killer UST (Seriously, I die.), literal laugh out loud humor, and a little mystery to boot. Don’t let the “alien” aspect hold you back. I did for far too long, and now I could kick myself, hard and repeatedly.

Aside from reading Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I also read Easy by Tammara Webber. I believe it’s the first book I’ve read that has been officially labeled in the new genre being referred to as “New Adult.” Basically the story hits you with a gut punch in the very first chapter when our MC, Jacqueline, is leaving a Halloween party and a life-changing moment takes place. She’s saved by a guy named Lucas and the story unfolds from there. I don’t want to go too in-depth here, but I want to make something perfectly clear, Lucas is mine… errr, I meant to say, that there’s a wonderfully-written romance (I swooned so hard, you guys!), serious moments that make your heart sit in your stomach, and a very empowering message by the end. And also, Lucas is mine. :)

Jag: While I am so jealous of everyone reading Obsidian, I am reading The White Queen (The Cousins’ War #1) by Philippa Gregory because of an upcoming trip to England. Many of you know I love historical fiction and this one is based on the Wars of the Roses. Even though it’s very long I’m really enjoying it so far. Stay tuned for my upcoming review. :)

So, what’s on your nightstand?
