“He leaned into her and his expression became very sincere. “And as far as where you belong…” He put a hand over his heart. “Right here. Always. In life and death and everything in-between,” He paused. “Never question it.”Review: Coming Soon
I pulled away. He stopped me with a hand on my wrist. “Wait,” he said, his voice undeniable throaty. I sank back against the wall. “I know what you’re thinking.”
His lips looked redder, wetter. My pulse thumped against my ribs.
“It’s written all over your face.” He pushed a lock of hair out of my eyes. “I’m not going anywhere.”
“I never said you were.” But my voice came out an uncertain whisper.
His hand went to my waist as his eyes met mine. His fingers found bare flesh beneath the hem of my T-shirt and pressed. Ever nerve ending in my body thrummed in response.
“Sam,” I said, though I couldn’t seem to pull together the rest of what I wanted to say, all the things I should have said.
He leaned in and brushed his lips against mine, feather-light at first, then more eager. My heart thundered as he exhaled, like he’d been holding the air in his lungs for far too long.
My hands walked up his biceps as his fingers threaded through my hair, sending ribbons of heat down to my skull. He pressed into me as if he couldn’t get close enough, and I pressed back. Because I wasn’t close enough. Because I’d spent the last several years of my life wishing I could be closer.Review: HERE
“Maybe one day you’ll come back. Maybe you never will and that’ll suck, but you can’t keep doing this. The blame and the self-loathing and the bullshit. I can’t watch that. It makes me hate you for hating yourself. I don’t want to lose you. But I’d rather lose you if it means you’ll be happy. I think if you come back with me today, you’ll never be okay. And I’ll never be okay if you aren’t. I need to know that there’s a way for people like us to end up okay. I need to know that there even is such a thing as okay, maybe even good, and it’s out there and we just haven’t found it yet. There’s got to be a happier ending than this, here. There’s got to be a better story. Because we deserve one. You deserve one. Even if it doesn’t end with you coming back to me.”Review: Coming Soon
His eyes were heavy with desire, but she saw something else. A gleam that made her suspicious.
“What?” she asked.
His hands slid to her hips. “You’re incredible.”
“That’s not what you were thinking.”
“Was so. I always think that.” He leaned in twisting a strand of her hair around his finger as he kissed her bottom lip. “But I was also wondering what you were doing around Butter today.”
Aria laughed. That was attractive. She smelled like horse. “Do you ever miss anything?”
Perry smiled. “You, all the time.”Review: HERE
