We’re always looking for that next great read and we’d love to know what books ya’ll read over the weekend!
Here’s what’s on our night stands (and keeping us up way past our bedtimes) at the Book Hookup….
Amy: I’m about halfway through Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon… Honestly since I saw the gorgeous cover (as well as the premise too of course), I’ve been itching to get my hands on this book. The story is full of lush, beautiful descriptions of Ireland and topped off with a darkly handsome and dreamy male protagonist…. WIN!
Celeste: is reading a book given to us to review, Embraced by the Shadows, by Mayra Calvani. This is a vampire novel, but I haven’t read one in a long time so it is actually quite refreshing. This is the first novel I have ever read where I actually liked the prologue! It’s a quick and enjoyable read so far, and I feel as if I am just starting to get ready for lots of action and the romance is only heating up.
Jag: It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada so I wanted to wish all of our Canucks readers a happy turkey day! So this weekend I finished Shadow Kiss the third book in the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and I started the fourth book, Blood Promise. I’m really enjoying these books, the characters are complex, the plot is exciting and they are not at all predictable. The end of the third book was a major heartfail and the fourth book has gone in a completely different direction…and I love it!
So what did you read this weekend? Leave us a comment…. We’d LOVE to know!
