Ana will put Angel Evolution on her 2nd shelf!

My Review:  This book puts a whole new spin on our perception of good and evil.  The age-old war between angels and demons is central to this story but the twists will surprise you and leave you wondering who you can trust.

Taylor is a girl who believes herself to be perfectly normal.  She’s starting college and venturing out on her own.  Soon enough she meets Gabriel, an intriguing boy with a clearly visible aura around him.  Turns out he’s an angel and, from the moment he lets Taylor in on his secret, her life becomes much more of an adventure than she ever imagined it could be.  She falls quickly for his charms and for his story.  However, there is definitely more to what Gabriel claims is the truth.  Enter Chris…he’s a demon…and Taylor becomes the centerpiece in this war between the two sides…each one needing her to help them win the battle.

The characters in this book are well developed and likeable.  Even as I began to question the intentions of Gabriel and Chris, I still found myself trusting both on some level.  But, like Taylor, I need to be careful about who I put my faith in.  Sam, Taylor’s best friend is her polar opposite.  She’s the girl all the boys drool over and, normally, the girl we love to hate in books like this.  But in this story she’s so fiercely loyal to Taylor that you can’t help but love her.  The chemistry between all the characters is believable and added to the suspense as I waited to see who was fooling me with their charm.

The writing in this book was detailed enough to allow my imagination to picture the situations and characters clearly.  The mystery behind these characters and their “truths” was really done well.  The author gives you just enough information to keep you looking for more…just enough to keep you turning the pages.  There were a couple of parts where I felt the story could have moved a bit more quickly and I think that it was because the dialogue wasn’t as smooth as it could be in those areas.  But it did not diminish the intrigue and my desire to find out what happens next.

Overall, this was a good read…a book that kept me guessing and wanting to know more.  And…the best part is that books 2 and 3 are already available so there’s no waiting to find out what happens next!!
