We’re back again and, as always, we’re looking for that next great read. Here’s what’s what kept us up late at night this weekend:
Celeste: I’m reading Fever (The Chemical Garden #2) by Lauren DeStefano. I loved Wither so much and have been waiting forever for my turn for Fever at my local library! This is some serious dystopian crack. People are infected with a genetic mutation and don’t live past 25 for men and 20 for women. Rhine and Gabriel have escaped one crazy world but landed in a totally different, yet equally as crazy one. I am biting my nails to see what happens to them.
Ana: I’m reading Inhale by Kendall Grey. I’ve been reading YA for so long that I was actually shocked the first time I encountered a swear word in this book! lol It’s definitely on the adult side. Zoe is a whale biologist who begins to hear them speaking to her and begins seeing this gorgeous guy in her dreams. Gavin is a rock star and, coincidentally, he’s also the guy in Zoe’s dreams. Turns out he’s a sentinel who looks after humans in their dreams by fighting Fyre Elementals. And, he’s gorgeous. So far the book is well written and entertaining…and I’m looking forward to some adult encounters!
Christina: I just started Unbreak My Heart by Melissa C. Walker, a contemporary YA romance. I’m not very far, but it already seems pretty promising! Clem has a broken heart and this novel is about the summer that healed it. I love the alternating chapters that tell the story, and I can’t wait to read more
Jag: I’m further along into they dystopian novel Delirium (Delirium #1) by Lauren Oliver. The start was slow for me, but there was a lot of groundwork to lay and now I love it. The pace is steady, its well written and the premise is incredibly unique. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
How about you? We’d love to know what you’re reading!
