What did you read this weekend?

It’s Monday again!!

We were able to sneak in some reading time this weekend!
Were you?

You know how this goes…
we’ll show you ours if you show us yours!!

Ana:  I’m reading Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan. Kami lives in a small town where pretty much everyone thinks she weird.  And…she sort of is!  She’s been talking to this guy in her head as long as she can remember…and when you get too old for people to believe that your imaginary friend is a “normal thing”, they don’t quite know what to do with you.  To top it off, strange things begin to happen in her sleepy town when the Lynburns return…bringing with them the boy she thought lived only in her head.  There are lots of twists in this book and some creepy characters who I don’t know what to make of yet.  The mystery is growing and I’m looking forward to figuring out what’s going on! This book will be released on September 11, 2012.  Stay tuned for our review!

Christina: This weekend I had the good fortune to be able to devour an ARC of Unravel Me (Shatter Me #2) by Tahereh Mafi. (Book_Junkee loaned me her copy, go check out her website!) Since this doesn’t come out until February 5th, 2013, I won’t say much except for that it was nothing, and yet,  absolutely everything I expected it to be. Ms. Mafi still has the effortless ability to draw you in and keep you captivated. Her prose and image delivery is still nothing short of remarkably incredible– gorgeous, lyrical perfection– and I”m still adamant about wanting to live in her brain for a while. Unravel Me picks up two weeks from where Shatter Me left off, and believe me when I say, it was one hell of a thrilling ride with suspense, romance, action, humor, and heartbreaking twists and turns along the way. It’s official, Tahereh is an amazing, wonderful (and all the other synonyms ever for most awesome chick in the world) talent. Mark your calendars, people, you don’t want to miss this one. I’m more eager than ever to get my hands on Destroy Me. Come on October 2nd!

Celeste: I also am reading Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy #1) by Sarah Rees Brennan. It started off a little confusing but is starting to get better. Kami, the main character,  lives in a strange, sleepy town and has heard a voice in her head for as long as she can remember. I honestly didn’t know where it was going for quite some time but can now see it picking up….maybe. Stay tuned for my upcoming review with Ana!

Also, while you’re here, don’t forget to enter the two giveaways we still have running!

  1. I finished Seduced in the Dark by CJ Roberts and started JLK’s Half Blood series. Very different books but both were outstanding. Can’t say enough about Seduced in the Dark. Incredibly intense, but wonderful.

  2. Jag

Since I’ve been reading a lot, A LOT, of YA lately I switched gears and read a little smut. 🙂 I read Bared to You by Sylvia Day. Its very Fiftyesque, if ya know what I mean but less about the BDSM and more about ‘control’. I enjoyed the mix of heat and emotion, it was a good read and looks to be the first in a trilogy.

“Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness…

He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily… “

  3. I finished Every Day by David Levithan. Interesting and very good. And, just like Jag above me, I´ve gotten into Bared to You by Sylvia Day and am thusly hot and bothered 😉
