From the Publisher: Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

**Ana & Celeste received ARCs & while they flailed all over the place
it honestly did not influence the review–we swear!**

First thoughts after reading:
Celeste: I’m freaking out! It’s official: I LOVE and am addicted to Aiden St. Delphi this series!! It all started with Half-Blood and every book in the Covenant Series gets better and better. Apollyon went above and beyond all my expectations, and the standard I have for these books is crazy high to begin with. It’s a fantastic story and then it has all these awesome nuggets tucked in along the way. That is what makes JLA a genius.   Apollyon had it all: a storyline rich in Mythology, conspiracy, romance, snark, humor, a brooding hero, weapons, tears, and the list goes on.

Ana:  This series just gets better and better.  Everything is ramping up…the action is more intense, the twists and turns are more unexpected, the relationships are growing stronger and the romance…oh, the romance…is sweeter and sexier than ever!!

The Story:
Celeste: While my broken heart had a little time to recover after reading Elixir, I was still very fragile (lol, yes, I’m so invested in this story!) I was ready and dove into Apollyon, but I was truly and SO emotional in the beginning of the story. Alex has the internal battle as she fights to break the connection with Seth, which is no easy task. Aiden’s love for her or his patience never, ever waivers. I had tears in my eyes more than once. While breaking the connection to Seth is critical, there are still so many more obstacles Alex has to overcome, or be killed herself. Make sure you sit down and buckle up, this is a stressful, yet fantastic ride.

Ana:  There’s so much intensity in this book.  Alex is dealing with so much because of her connection to Seth, her desire to save everyone she loves and her love for Aiden.  She’s torn about her feelings for Seth and her part in this entire adventure.  And when she comes to a certain realization (which I can’t share because I don’t want to spoil it for you), she needs to face the possibility of a devastating outcome.  Aiden’s love and devotion to Alex is heartwarming.  He believes so deeply in  what they’re doing and in their relationship that it’s…well…it’s just… *sigh*

Alex and Aiden:
Celeste: I love them. In real life I want Alex to be my friend and I reallllllly would like some kissy time (or more!) with Aiden.  Alex is so brave, so good, so loyal and yet has a fabulous healthy ego still. I may actually have a massive girl crush on her. She loves with her whole heart and doesn’t hold back. To top it off, her sense of humor is priceless, as are so many of her one liners.

Oh, it was on like Donkey Kong.
as well as
Son of a daimon donkey.

Aiden is one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. He is gorgeous with his dark hair, silver eyes (le sigh) and his body, which I believe Alex said he must have had paint rollers under his abs. I know right? While all of those things make him extremely tasty, it’s his personality that makes me melt. He has always been a “by the rules” guy. While you might think that is a snooze factor, it’s actually what makes him so smexy. That’s right, because when he loses that control it is just So. Damn. Hot. For example, when he was upset with his brother and let loose a whole string of f-bombs. Hot. Or, when he got so mad he threw a figurine across the room and it smashed to pieces. Hot. And let’s top off his appeal with the fact that he can wield weapons like a ninja. For real ladies, this is the guy fantasies are made of.

Ana:  Can I just say ditto?!?!  I don’t know what more I can add.  Alex is awesome.  She’s snarky and sassy and funny and smart.  I’d like to be her! Aiden is sexy and passionate and strong and dedicated.  So swoony!!  I love that Aiden is also coming out of his shell.  He’s much more “human” than he’s ever been in how he acts and reacts to the situations around him…still very much in control but not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve!!

The Romance:
Celeste: I needed tissues AND a cold shower. I hope that sums it up because I do not want to give anything away and you all should savor all the goodness yourselves, but TRUST, you want to read this book. Gah, I will give you one quote because I need to:

Aiden chuckled, “I said sleeping together, Alex. What I have in mind doesn’t involve sleeping.”

“Oh.” Warmth spread though me like I was back in the steaming shower. “Oh.

Ana: Oh, my heart…and my lady bits!  Dang…this relationship keeps getting sweeter and hotter with each turn of the page.  Prepare yourselves to reread some passages…several times!!

Other awesome stuff:
Celeste: The reference to Daemon Black. LMAO

Ana:  I love the humor in this book.  As Celeste mentioned above, the reference to reading a book about aliens was priceless!  I urge you to take your time and read the book more slowly than you will want to…just so you don’t miss fun bits like that!

Celeste: He is hilarious. I expected a god to be scary, which is he, but frankly, he cracks me up when he pops in at the most *cough* inopportune times.

Ana:  Love him!  He’s funny, unpredictable and speaks his mind…what more can you want from a god?

Celeste: I think I hated him in the last book but now I’m not sure. I’m almost thinking along the same lines as Alex. Would I trust him? No, definitely not, but I want to know more.

Ana:  I’ve liked Seth all along and in this book we get some new insights into his character.  I’m not sure I trust him, but I know I like him and am hoping everything will be ok!

The Reveal:
Celeste: HOLY SH*T!

Ana:  Ya…what she said!!!!

The Ending/Final Thoughts:
Celeste: Crap. I’m nervous if Alex can pull the whole transfer of power off. I am an emotional mess which is great because it’s not often a book can do this to me.

Ana:  There’s so much that’s expected of Alex right now and there’s so much emotion attached to what’s about to happen that I get butterflies (not the sexy kind, the nervous kind) just thinking about it.  There’s so much that can go wrong…there’s so much that can go right…there’s just so much….

Rec it?
Celeste: A billion trillion times Y E S.

Ana:  Is this even a question?!?  Run…don’t walk!!!!!
