** Quick thoughts from Amy: Oh man.. What an awesome, AWESOME book. The writing, the characters, the poetry, The Avett Brothers.. I couldn’t get enough. Slammed is one of the most beautifully told stories I’ve ever read!

**Quick thoughts from Amy: I loved Will. I loved Lake. I loved everything about their story and the beautiful, complex characters that surrounded them. This series touched me on a level most books never even come close to.. I wish I could explain it better, but I just can’t do it justice. Every time I came across quotes or Avett Brothers lyrics or poetry, I held my breath with anticipation as I searched for the meaning embedded in the words. I truly love that. I really do. This is such a great series that is so beautifully written.. I highly recommend these books!

Story Synopsis: There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Colleen Hoover’s New York Times bestselling Slammed series has brought countless readers to their knees with a whirlwind of love, passion, and heartache.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

**NOTE:** An eBook of This Girl was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. However, that did not influence this review in any way.

I put this whole series on my top shelf!

Favorite quote..

“Life doesn’t get all up in your damn way because it wants you to just give up and let it take control. Life wants you to fight it.”

Thoughts on This Girl..

This book was BUTTERFLYING amazing! I adored it. Heck, I adored the entire series. And for so many different reasons! It was like taking a reminiscent stroll down memory lane. Colleen retells this cherished, epic love story from Will’s point of view and it was such a beautiful way to end this touching story. I’m still astounded by impact these books have had on me. As I’ve said before, I can’t really find fitting words to truly describe how much these 3 brilliantly written books mean to me. Have you ever had a time in your life when you’re maybe feeling bit lost or hopeless or even just simply disappointed and you’re looking for something.. anything.. to change the way you view certain things?? Well that’s where I was when I picked up these books and about halfway thru Slammed, I realized all I really needed was Colleen Hoover’s inspiring and impressionable way with words..

I could not put this book down. Literally. I was completely riveted and captivated by Will’s reasoning’s and actions and feelings this time around.. There is so much emotion packed into every single page of this book.. It’s breathtaking and heartbreaking and quite honestly, just perfect.

Will, Layken and their romance..

Will and Layken had this instantaneous, super magnetic and totally swoonworthy whirlwind romance that will have you sighing and crying and yelling and swooning HARD all over the place. If you read this series for nothing other than to experience the romance aspect of it, then do it. Seriously. I promise you will fall in love with these characters and the love they share for one another just like I did.

The poetry and it’s role in the story..

O.M.G. I loved it. I absolutely loved it. Poetry is such a beautiful form of creative expression. Will and Layken’s relationship blossoms around these poetry readings also known as ‘slams‘.. Now I’ve always been a big fan of poetry, especially when it’s meaningful and romantic and descriptive like it is in these books, but I hadn’t heard of a poetry slam before.. (for those that don’t know, it’s basically a competition or performance between poets that recite their work to an audience and judges to be scored..) I’m now making it my mission this summer to find a poetry slam that I can attend because I MUST see this. In This Girl there’s some new poems that we didn’t see in books 1 and 2 and they are absolutely beautiful. I got goosebumps and butterflies and cried a little as I read through each one.. I think I might be a weeeeeeee bit emotional, eh? It’s powerful stuff! No judging! I can’t help it!

Final words..

I seriously highlighted at least three quarters of this book! True story! And then the moment I turned that last page, I immediately went back to the beginning and flew through it again! Yes. It’s that wonderful. I highly, highly recommend this series as well as her Hopeless series and ANYTHING else penned by the brilliantly talented and amazing Colleen Hoover.

Then this girl
Holy hell, this girl

 Happy Reading!
