About the Book:

Baya Brighton is looking forward to her first year at Whitney Briggs University, new friends, dorm life, and finally being close to her brother again. Love is the last thing on the list, but when Baya meets her brother’s roommate she begins to have thoughts and feelings that make even her blush.

Bryson Edwards has a secret he prefers buried in the past and long forgotten. He prefers loose girls, fast cars, and long nights working at the string of bars his family owns. When his roommate’s sister shows up on the scene, she’s far too innocent and sweet for him but he can’t shake Baya out of his mind and worse, it looks like she’s seeping into his heart as well.

Baya seems determined to show her brother she’s not a little kid and equally determined to use Bryson’s body to prove her point. It’s been made pretty clear that Baya is off limits to Bryson but their undeniable sparks explode into a whole lot more than just a few 3:AM KISSES.

My Review:  Addison Moore is now writing new adult contemporary and I, for one, couldn’t be happier.  I’ve enjoyed her Celestra and Countenance books very much and didn’t think it would be possible for her to write a character I would love more than Gage Oliver.  But…wait for it…Bryson Edwards is giving Gage a real run for his money.

This was a very good story – fun to read and filled with wonderful characters.  Baya Brighton is eager to start college and be seen as the adult she is, especially by her brother, Cole, who still treats her like she’s 13!  She’s an intelligent and sassy character that I liked right from the beginning.  Her innocence was charming and hilarious inner monologue had me giggling out loud.  She does, however, have a one-track mind.  I guess I can’t blame her though…not with Bryson around!  Bryson Edwards has a past he can’t forget and it’s affecting who he’s become.  It takes a while to understand what happened but it didn’t take long for me fall for this charming, gorgeous, swoonworthy and broken guy!  I found it refreshing that his character was actually quite honest about his feelings and, even though Baya was off limits, he didn’t shy away from her.  The chemistry between these two was hot!

The story is told in alternating POV’s and, if you’ve read my past reviews, you know that I really enjoy that.  I love to hear what different characters are thinking and, in this case, it made the story richer…and in some instances more funny or even more swoon-inducing!  The secondary characters were also very well written and I enjoyed their interactions.  I have to admit, no one writes a mean girl like Addison Moore.  And, in this case, the mean girl surprised me tremendously.  I think I was so caught up in Baya and Bryson that I didn’t understand the extent of her bad intentions.  That made what happens later in the story quite a surprise for me, especially since the twist in this story happens so quickly.  I almost which I’d had a few more chapters to digest it all at the end.

Overall, I enjoyed this book.  It’s a quick read with enough smooching and, well, other stuff to keep new adult readers happy and with that smooth, descriptive writing style that’s uniquely Addison Moore to keep the rest of her fans happy.  Pick it up…I think you’ll enjoy it!
