**I received a copy of this book from the publisher,
but that did not influence the review**
First Thoughts: 3 stars This installment wrapped things up in a nice little bow and I got lots of closure.
Plot, Pacing and Style: The story continued with Ava deciding it was time for Peter to turn her into an immortal. However, so many people were affected with this change, not just Ava and Peter. I have to say, that is the whole plot. It was never any more layered than that, but I guess I thought of it like an extended epilogue so it worked out well for me.
It might have been better if I liked Tex, but I just wasn’t a fan before, and to have to have her POV included in this story only confirmed my feelings for her. This story was 1 person POV from a lot of the characters. While it was good, I always had to go back and check who was speaking for each chapter.
The MCs: I have to say, I like who Ava has become. She is definitely feistier, and not just because she swears more and shows her attraction to Peter. Something about her just came to life. Peter too seems to let go, and although he was still stoic, I knew he had definitely loosened up a lot and it was great. I was hoping he would have dropped an f-bomb (I would have lol’d), but I guess that just wasn’t his personality.
Romance /Chemistry: Loved it. It was definitely hotter in this book, and while there are sexy times it was still mostly fade to black. It all still made my heart fluttery.
Title/Cover: The title is spot on, as Ava (and many other characters) really think about the concept of immortality. The cover is a toss-up for me. I like the idea of it, but the dude’s face is not good. It is kind of mannequin-ish. Not Peter at all.
Ending: This was definitely a HEA book, and while most loose ends were tied up, I still wonder what will happen with Jamie and Brook, as well as Tex and Viktor.
Gripes/suggestions: It was like an extended epilogue of book 3, and maybe this could have just been added to book 3 instead of being a story on its own. However, as soon as I realized this I was fine with the story. There were also definitely some typos, but those were easily be overlooked and didn’t bother me.
Final Thoughts/Rec It? Yes, it gave me great closure to this fantastic series.
