Synopsis: “I will do anything to make her MINE.” —Remington Tate

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington “Remy” Tate as vital as the air he breathes . . . and now he can’t live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman’s dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, Brooke is torn away from the ringside. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

**We received a copy of Mine for the tour,
but that did not influence the review**

First Thoughts..
Celeste: 4 stars! Let’s be real: I’m pretty sure I was turned on the entire time I was reading this book. The hormones jumped off the pages.

Amy: 4 Stars! This book was intense, dark, edgy and raw! And, holy Remington Tate was it HOT!

Plot, Pacing and Style..
Amy: Told from Brooke’s point of view, Mine takes place at the start of a new season.. Remy and Brooke are finally together and their understanding and love for one another is growing stronger every day. Certain circumstances suddenly invade the stage and catapult these characters out of each others arms, forcing them to cope with an almost painfully difficult absence.

The plot was structured well, but the pacing throughout the story threw me off a bit unfortunately. Brooke was excessively vocal about her feelings for Remy this time around, and I felt that it somewhat halted the flow of the storyline. There were pages of inner dialogue consisting of Brooke discussing her love, faith in and desire for Remy.. Now I’d probably be a blathering, love-crazed fool if Remy was real my man too, but I just couldn’t ignore what seemed to be her constant stream of feelings all the time. I do love Katy’s writing though.. her words are packed with such an intense impact and vibrancy.

Celeste: Mine continued with Brooke and Remy’s story, and showed that a love so intense is never easy, but definitely oh so worth it. The entire book was  about how deeply Remy and Brooke needed each other, and we definitely got to hear them declare their love many, many times. The pacing was easy, but it was a lot of the same story and thoughts over and over – it felt like Brooke was almost trapped in her own head.  However, the chemistry between the two of them made me just want to keep burning through the pages.

The MCs..
Celeste: In this book both Remy and Brooke have admitted they love each other, but it seemed like they really still didn’t believe the other one could love them back as much.  Even when there were times of doubt, there were never any games, which I loved. Both of these characters were always upfront about not only their love, but when they were upset too. I think they each got a little stronger by the end of the book, and it was because they truly completed the other one. They did irk me a little when they had to be away from the other one, it was really only a few days and not a year.

Amy: Remy is such a unique character. I’ve read a lot of books about bad boys.. *cough* A LOT. #Obsessed but, there aren’t many that can stand on the same level as Remington Tate. His presence in the story is completely addicting and he definitely makes this series the awesomeness that it is. Although he’s somewhat settled down with Brooke now, he never loses that dark and dangerous, bad-ass, fighter mentality and I love it. As for Brooke, like I said earlier, I was a little disappointed with her, but that aside, these two characters couldn’t of made this story what it is without each other.

Romance /Chemistry..
Amy: This book could literally combust from all the hotness within it. It’s insane! Brooke and Remy share a chemistry like no other.. Steaminess is just rolling off the pages and man o’ man can Katy Evans write some epic sex scenes. Rawr! I love, love, LOVE how Brooke and Remy use music to express their feelings for each other too.. It’s beautiful and romantic and hot and I WANT THAT!

Celeste: This book was sex, sex, sex and then some more sex, sex, sex.  Holy cow. You might say to yourself, how could Ms. Evans write another sexy scene? I mean, we just had 10 sexy scenes where Remy and Brooke had to have each other or they would combust. Well, she writes them and I read them. Every. Single. Word. Now it was totally unrealistic, but still, that’s why we love romance novels.

Celeste: The title is so perfect it’s not even funny. Perfectly perfect. The cover, I’m not so sure. Yes, it’s pretty sexy but totally inaccurate. When I was finished with the story I thought the cover didn’t go at all. But…….maybe it’s a symbolism type of cover? Then I guess it works. I still would have been happier with Remy on the cover.

Amy: I’m not so sure that the cover accurately portrays the stories greatness.. That said, it’s also very possible that I’m just greedy and wanted another ripped body shot of Remy on the cover.. However, the title is perfection.

Twists and Turns..
Amy: The major plot twist in the story definitely threw me, but in a good way and there certainly were some dips and veer-offs within the storyline, but I was honestly so obsessed with Remy and Brooke the whole time to really even notice any drama going on with secondary characters or for that drama to make any kind of impact on me.

Celeste: I’m pretty sure a few storylines (the Nora one and the one with Remy’s friends) were supposed to throw us a little bit, but neither one resonated with me. I never felt worried about them, or even really cared. Maybe because some of those relationships had never really been important to me.  I can’t speak for everyone, so maybe it will shock the pants off of other people.

Celeste: Oh, I got my HEA and I want to hug everyone.

Amy: *le sigh* The ending was executed so well..

Amy: My issues were mainly with Brooke and her insecurity. I felt like she was much stronger in Real and I valued that in her character. Now I get that there are some key factors that play into all of this and insecurity is certainly a real possibly in the situation, I just wish she had been stronger and a little bit less vocal and repetitive about her feelings.

Celeste: I really did love this story, so it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what more I wanted. I think maybe the secondary storylines besides the relationship. I would have loved if there was a little more danger. Now, I realize this was from Brooke’s POV,  and I know Remy was keeping her in the dark about details. He told her more than once that “he was taking care of it” and she didn’t have to worry. Would it have been different from Remy’s POV? Maybe?? I wonder now if my questions get answered in Remy’s story?

Final Thoughts/Rec It?
Celeste: Absolutely. I have been eagerly awaiting this story and just love Remy and Brook together. This series is a must read if you like a hot romance with a couple that needs each other like they need air to breathe.

Amy: YES! This series is so unique and the characters seriously sizzle together.. Definitely a must read!
