KEEP ME STILL Synopsis:
Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that both bind them together and tear them apart.
Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she’s built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.
Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.

First Thoughts: 4.5 stars Wow, what a ride, this was heart wrenching, frustrating, and just oh so good.
Plot, Pacing and Style: Keep Me Still is the story of 2 people that came alive and found reasons to truly live their lives once the other one was a part of it. However, the reasons their lives were so empty before they met could not just be erased because they fell in love. This is the story of Landen and Layla’s journey, and the ups and down they go through, with plenty of love, smexy time, and tears. This was dual POV, so we could see how much they affected each other, and just how damaged they each were.
The MCs: In the beginning Layla was the one with so much baggage, yet she amazed me because she was still so strong. Landen at first seemed like he had it all, but his life hasn’t been easy either. His demons really came out full force later in the story. Landen is definitely one smexy guy, and I couldn’t help but drool over him. Layla was definitely quieter, but once Landen melted Layla’s shell she was really outgoing. Sometimes their communication was so good, so honest, and other times it didn’t go so well, and I felt myself almost crying along with them.
I also need to mention the characters Corin and Skylar here…I loved them, adored them, want to know more about them. I’m assuming they will get a chance to tell their story too one day???
Romance /Chemistry: I loved the romance and the way Landen courted Layla in the beginning. He was determined to be with her, and he let it be on her terms, which made it a delicious a slow burn. By the middle of the book it went from sweet to hot, but some parts were a little over the top. It was like once she handed in her v-card she did every sexual act in 2 days. It wasn’t realistic, but I guess it was portraying how much pent up desire they had for each other. The last part of the book was a deeper love, and the physical chemistry was perfect. I loved the way they loved each other. *Rawr and sigh*
Title/Cover: I loved the title, but I didn’t need to see it mentioned in the book more than 2 or 3 times. It was really, really fitting, though. Love the cover…it’s sweet and deep, and they are looking at each other in such an intimate, perfect.
Twists and Turns: Definitely some things that I wasn’t expecting, and it made the story come together a lot. I don’t really want to say anymore on that.
Ending: Get. Me. Tissues. The last section of the book was so emotional, and I got the HEA, but it was no easy journey. But the best part was…it was so real. They didn’t end up perfect, and just like Layla said, “we still have our scars”. I was so glad to see how far they’d come, and I knew when I closed the book that Landen and Layla were the real deal. I loved it.
Gripes/suggestions: My main suggestion is that less is more as far as sex scenes go. Ms. Quinn nailed the chemistry (lol) but then some parts in the middle just went just over the top for me (I didn’t need the cherry or the milkshake). But really, the story was so good, so deep, and I really got to know and love these characters that it’s really not a gripe at all.
Final Thoughts/Rec It? Oh my goodness, YES!
