Title: Knowing Jack
Author: Rachel Curtis
Publisher: self-published
Published: January 17, 2014
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

Synopsis: I am not a slut, although I’ve been called one often enough. Yeah, I spent three months screwing one of my college professors, but I was crazy about the guy. Then he broke up with me.

I am not a bitch, although people like to say I am. I kept our relationship secret. I’m not responsible for telling the university administrators about it, but a lot of students still blame me for getting their favorite professor fired.

I am not a drama queen, although everyone thinks I am now. When I got a few nasty messages, I just deleted them. When I got the threat, I assumed it was someone being stupid. I still think that’s all it was. My parents worry, though, so they hired me a bodyguard. Now Jack follows me around, intimidating everyone who approaches me and looking obnoxiously hot.

This is what I am. I’m Chloe. I’m a twenty-year-old art history major. Kind of shy, although I pretend not to be. Stubborn enough to stay here for my senior year, even though everyone hates me.

And I’m stuck with Jack.

He calls me “Princess,” but I’m not a princess either.

**I received a copy of this book for the blog tour,
but that did not influence the review**

First Thoughts: 5 scorching naughty dirty talking stars *sings* I loved this book! Ms. Curtis sucked me in to this romance and didn’t let me go until I read the very last word.

Plot, Pacing, Setting, and Style: You can check out the synopsis for the plot, I don’t want to give anything away. All you need to know from me is that Chloe and Jack have to spend a lot of time together, and they have an attraction and connection right off the bat. This means the sparks were there from the beginning and we got all angsty from the start. WIN! I loved the back and forth between the two, which was always full of  innuendos that were hot and hilarious at the same time.

I devoured this book in one sitting because it flowed so well and was total crack to me. Ms. Curtis has a talent for writing characters that are really real, and to be able to feel their attraction as a reader was amazing. This was told in alternating POVs, and even though we got in Jack’s head he didn’t tell us any secrets until he told Chloe. Le sigh. I know, I was dying loving it.

Main Characters: I loved Chloe…she was sassy, shy, and pretty open about her feelings. I wanted to be her.  She called Jack on everything, and the banter they had was so good. Now, let’s talk about how much I loved Jack. Damaged goods galore. Dirty talker. Hot. Brooding. Did I mention dirty talker? Controlling. He was absolutely delicious.

Romance/Chemistry: Holy smokes. *passes you a cigarette before you read the book* It was so good before it even got good (if you know what I mean). The sexual tension was electric between them, and then when they got together? Oh. My. Prepare yourselves, ladies. But it wasn’t good because it was hot, it was amazing because these two were so in sync with one another, so connected that it meant so much. I love you, Rachel Curtis!

Title/Cover: So the title is pretty good, Chloe does know Jack. It worked. The cover, I have to be honest…I am not loving it. It needs something else to represent some of the swoony that is Jack. The girl also looks a little too young.

Twists, Turns, and Secrets: The reveal of someone up to no good was predictable, but I still enjoyed seeing it all play out. I also loved learning about the situation that plagued Jack with guilt.

Ending: NOOOOOOO! Yes, a cliffy!!

Gripes/suggestions:  I’m thinking, I’m thinking *sratches head*…..I don’t know. I always have something, but I just loved this. LOVED. So maybe just that I didn’t love the cover. Now can we call it a well rounded review?

Final Thoughts/Rec it? Yes, if you love swoony new adults this is a must must must for your TBR.
