Then Sydney’s darkest secret begins to hunt her down just when she thinks she’s escaping it. Suddenly nothing is what is seems to be and Sydney finds herself torn between truth and love.

**I received a copy of this book,
but that did not influence the review**

First Thoughts: 4 stars! Loved Sydney & Henry! Can’t be a 5 because of too much predictability, but really, it was a great *coughsexyhotcough* story.

Plot, Pacing, and Style: This story was told from Sydney’s POV and moved along really nicely, as in I read this in one night. Sydney has a past that haunts her, although it’s not her fault. She can’t escape the guilt or shame she has because of it. Instead of focusing on a romance right in front of her face with her best friend Henry, she lusts after her professor and tells him her story. Things heat up, but also become very clear once Sydney starts to feel more alive.  Although I knew where it was all going the writing drew me in and I couldn’t help but totally enjoy this journey.

Main Characters: Loved Syndey. BUT, she got on my nerves for one thing: I didn’t understand how she could be so dumb, so naive to freaking sext her professor!! She did not check to make sure it was him. It’s tech 101—> DON’T SEND NUDEY PIX. EVER. Once I just accepted this, I did enjoy watching her become alive, both physically and emotionally. She went from damaged and coping, to damaged and healing. Her story isn’t over so I look forward to seeing how she deals with the curve ball thrown at her.

Loved Henry. He was gorgeous and sculpted and kind and loyal and rich and NAUGHTY. Sweet lawd. The only reason he wasn’t snatched up by someone else was because he was so in love with Sydney for so long. I had to give him credit for being so patient. I could see right from the beginning that he loved her, so don’t worry, this isn’t spoiling.

Romance/Chemistry: HOLY HOT SEXY TIMES. You need to prepare yourself. I loved it. It was scorching, but it also meant something.

Title/Cover: The title is just meh for me, but the cover, well the cover is a bit naughty but perfect.

Twists, Turns, and Secrets: I pretty much guessed all of the secrets and twists from the very beginning, but still fully enjoyed all of it.

Ending: Yeah, cliffy. Boo. Mama wasn’t too happy about that, but May isn’t too far away so I guess I can deal.

Gripes/suggestions: It was too short, it was more like a novella. Since there’s a 2nd book I wish it was just combined with book 1. Basically I’m greedy!!

Final Thoughts/Rec it? YES! Loved it. A great friendship turned hot romance is all kinds of win.
