Series: A Sign of Love
Author: Mia Sheridan

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.
Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.
Ana will put Archer’s Voice on her Top Shelf!!!
Oh, my heart!!! It is so full of emotion, so full of love for this book that it’s almost impossible for me to put words to it. So, if you don’t feel like listening to me gush…just go get this book! Fall in love with romance…fall in love with the innocence and beauty of love…fall in love with Archer. Trust me, you will! Then we can gush together!!
This story is beautiful, unique and had me hooked from the very beginning. Archer Hale witnessed a horrible tragedy and, because of it, he has been unable to speak since age seven. Raised by his uncle who, because of his own demons, segregated them both from society, he’s not only alone after his uncle’s death but also unprepared to deal with the outside world. Even as an adult, Archer is innocent and reluctant to venture beyond his own walls. And he certainly isn’t ready for love! He’s missed so much over the years and he’s all but resigned himself to living a lonely life. From the first page, my heart ached for all he had lost.
“How do you teach a man who has lost everything, not to fear it happening again?”
Bree enters the picture because she’s running from her past. She’s broken, she’s sad and she’s scared…but she’s strong and wants to move forward. In Archer she sees hope and, it’s her strength and belief that propels their relationship forward and begins to change Archer’s life. She gives him a voice…and helps him imagine a future that might not have been possible otherwise.
You’ve heard me say a thousand times that I love love. So it shouldn’t surprise you that I would adore any book that can wake up the possibility of love in someone. Archer’s story is about hope. It’s about seeing beyond the hand that life has dealt you and taking all the painful steps towards happiness. It’s about grabbing joy, even when you didn’t know it could be possible.
“I didn’t know enough to dream you, Bree, but somehow you came true anyway. How did that happen?” He rubbed his nose along mine, pausing and then pulling back again. “Who read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted, even when I didn’t?”
I feel like I don’t have any other words to say about this book…simply that I loved it. I suppose that none of us can ever truly pinpoint why a book touches us, only that it does. This book squeezed my heart, brought tears to my eyes and happiness to my soul. I hope it does the same for you!
“Someday … when we’re old and gray, I’m going to look at you lying in bed beside me, just like this, and I’m going to look into your eyes and know that it’s only ever been you. And that is going to be the great joy of my life.”
