Ana will put One to Hold on her second shelf!!

This is one of those books that turns out to be more than you expect.  I was looking forward to a sexy romance between a girl and a hot ex-Marine.  And I got that…in spades!  But, what I also got was a great back story and characters who are much more than they appear.  I got emotions and a story line that provided depth to the characters and a reason beyond the romance to keep me turning the pages!

I liked both Derek and Melissa.  These characters had baggage to deal with and their lives were more intertwined than they imagined.  Both were strong and smart and that is more unusual than you might think in these types of stories.  Jumping into a romance they believed would be short lived was a risk and by taking it they hoped to sooth the hurt from their current situations.  As it turns out, it both helped and complicated matters but their strength helped them deal with all that came to be.  Of course, I should mention that the chemistry between Derek and Melissa was undeniable…through the roof hot!  These two threw off sparks from the very beginning and made for some very enjoyable reading.  Yet, somehow, there was still a sweetness to this love story that I didn’t expect and that made it even more intriguing for me.

This was a great, quick read with likable characters, a  story line that gives you more than you expect and a romance that heats up the pages.  The writing was great and flow of the story made me want to keep reading.  Overall, a really good book!
