Title: Tall, Tatted and Tempting
Series: The Reed Brothers
Author: Tammy Falkner
Published: June 2013
She’s locked up tight. But he might be the key.
Logan Reed is tall, tatted and tempting. Kit’s a woman with a mean right hook and a secret.
Kit wants a tattoo, but Logan sees more than she intends to share in the drawing of the tat she wants. He sees her in ways no one ever has.
Logan’s not disabled; but he hasn’t spoken in eight years. He hasn’t needed to. Until he meets Kit.
Logan doesn’t know everything about Kit. Kit doesn’t know anything about herself, until she has to sacrifice all she ever wanted to save what’s most important to him.
Ana and Celeste will put this book on their top shelf!!
Ana: 5 stars!! I thought I knew what I was getting when I started this book. After all, look at the title and check out the cover. Fairly straight forward, right?!?! Not so!! I was pleasantly surprised by the story and depth of the the characters in this book. Yes, Logan is tall, tatted and most definitely tempting but he’s also sweet and loving and selfless and considerate and all the other things that make a girl sigh with pleasure. He had me tied around his little finger from the very first moment I met him. No wonder Kit couldn’t resist him. No wonder she’d do the unthinkable for him. No wonder I read this book so quickly!!
These characters were wonderfully written and storyline drew me in…it made me care! And…to make things even better…there’s a whole family of Reed brothers to melt your heart. The author weaves this story in amongst the other things that are going on with this family…some happy, some sad…and she makes you want to pick up the next books to find out what happens to these brothers. Seriously, I bought the second book even before I finished the first!
So there you have it. To me, this was proof that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. To me, it provided the excitement of having an author surprise me with sweetness and making my heart flutter in ways I didn’t see coming. Trust me…check out this book!!
Celeste: 5 swoony tattooed stars! I have had this on my kindle for a while and am upset I didn’t read this sooner. What a gem!
Emily was running from a life that would have suffocated her, and Logan was running on autopilot. Until they met each other their futures looked bleak, and together they were able to both get the lives they dreamed of. But no, it wasn’t that simple which is why this story was SO GOOD!!
Emily was really strong, strong enough that she gave up so much to get what she really wanted for herself. She was no weakling, yet still gave off the vibe that she could be so vulnerable which made her a great complex combination. It was also the reason (beyond her physical beauty) that Logan was drawn to her. Logan is a delicious tatted up manwhore that has a lot on his plate but all of a sudden he finds direction when Emily walks into his life and he couldn’t get enough of her and I couldn’t get enough of him wanting her.
The romance was sizzling because Logan held back until Emily was ready. The anticipation was craaaaaaazy and I loved it. Logan had a bit of a naughty mouth on him and I nearly fell over when he discussed piercings. That is all I will say on that topic, but HOLY MOTHER OF UNF WAS THAT SO HOT.
What could have been just a teensy bit better for me? Two things. And I really want you to know that even though I’m nit-picking it doesn’t change the fact that I am still giving this a 5 star rating, but I didn’t think it totally jelled that Logan went from not speaking to speaking all the time. It didn’t make sense. He should have still been a little more hesitant. The other was that Emily had dyslexia. I don’t understand why she never got help for it. She definitely had the resources. That just wasn’t consistent for me. But really, those are just 2 miniscule things that didn’t affect my serious passion for this book.
Oh wait, one more thing! I would have liked more discussion on Logan’s piercings. But that is me being greedy and obsessed with things like that *cough*.
I also agree with Ana, don’t judge a book by it’s cover (or title in this case). They both send the message of roaring sex, but it wasn’t that at all (well, a couple of times it was ;)) but there was a love that was woven throughout and by the end Emily and Logan truly gave their hearts to each other.
Would I rec this? YES! I got this as a kindle freebie but already bought book 2. Awesome start to this series and I can’t wait for more.
