I’m back in New York, ready to start my brand new life with Logan. Things are still up in the air between us, and it has been three months since I’ve even talked to him. But there’s one thing I’m certain of — I can’t live without him.
I need her like I need air. But now she’s back, and her dad and her ex-boyfriend are conspiring to keep us apart. We can do this, though. Can’t we? We can make this work? We have to, because I can’t imagine my life without her.
Celeste: 4.5 stars Oh, I love this series so much already. I have read both books in 1 sitting each *yawn* (late nights but worth it!)
I love that both Emily and Logan truly know who they are and never waver. They each have dreams and priorities and never pretend to be anyone they aren’t. It’s probably why their love is so strong and so healthy and so perfect. le sigh. And then there was the smokin hot chemistry. Sweeeeeeeet lawd I was dying. I still wanted to learn more about all the jewelry *cough*.
I also loved Emily’s mother, and would like to have seen or understood more of how she and her husband have a relationship. She totally understood Emily, and I wondered why they hadn’t had a heart to heart before Emily had run away in the first place. Regardless, she stepped up to the plate and I couldn’t help but giggle every single time she put her husband in his place.
Some parts were predictable, like all the things that happened with Trip, and other parts were not, like that one HUGE thing towards the end. I was happily surprised even though I started to cry!
I also have to bring up all of the other brothers. I love this family. Yes, I love the Reeds. I am crazy about the relationship that Matt has with Emily too, and I wish with all my heart that I could snuggle on the couch with them. I can’t wait for him to really start feeling better so that I can read his story. Who am I kidding? I can’t wait to read all their stories!
So, it doesn’t affect how much I loved this story, but I need to admit that I don’t really get the title. However, like I said it doesn’t matter because the book was so good. I got book 1 (Tall, Tatted and Tempting) but this one didn’t make sense. I have a feeling Peter’s is going to totally work though (Calmly, Carefully, Completely).
Would I rec this? YES! I love this series, I love Logan, I love the Reed brothers, I love Ms. Falkner’s writing and I can’t wait to buy the next book!
Ana: 4.5 stars Have to tell you that I’m loving this series!! This story was a great continuation to the first book! I loved these characters in the first part of the story and continued to love them here as well. When Emily comes back into Logan’s life there’s tension and uncertainty but, ultimately, there’s still love. This book explores those emotions with the added tensions that come with having an ex-boyfriend and a father who doesn’t understand you in the mix. And, of course, their chemistry is through the roof!!
Once again, I loved the Reed brothers and how they interact with each other. I’m looking forward to reading all of their stories!! The family element is such a huge part of these books and I really like that. Their support of each other adds richness to the stories and gives the reader more characters to love.
The only part of this story that I felt could have been done differently is the outcome of Emily and her father’s relationship. Although I love what happened, I felt it was a bit too quick. After all this time, the turnaround on his part seemed to be a bit too fast. But, in the end, I enjoyed how this book explored the elements of love from both a lover’s and a family’s point of view and that one small hiccup didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book at all.
The writing is great…the characters are wonderful and the stories are full of heart!! You should definitely pick up these books…they’re worth the read!!
