About the Book:
Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.
Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.
If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

Ana will put Five Ways to Fall on her Top Shelf!!
I can’t believe this series is over. These books have all been fantastic, fully of wonderful characters and situations. And, as I finished each one, I could hardly wait for the next one! So, even though I was completely sad to see it end, I still couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book…I may have even pestered the author and the publishing company when I found out that the Net Galley was only available to US members (no one stands between me and the books I want…lol). And, let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint!! This last book was a bit different from the rest, there was more humour and it was a bit lighter overall, but it still packed the emotional punch I appreciate in these stories and gave me another hero to fall in love with.
Ben is great! We’ve had glimpses of him in the other books and we know him as the ultimate playboy, the handsome tall blonde who’s with a new girl every night. He’s irrisitable and in this book we get to see not only his cocky and self-confident side but also the more sensitive side he tends to hide from the world.
“You’re not my type.”
I’ve heard this before and I don’t believe her. Hell, I’m everyone’s type! Eventually.”
In Reese, he meets his match. She gives as good as she gets and, even though she’s got heartache and baggage, she still feisty and fierce. Reese’s past has left her a bit lost and she’s landed herself in some trouble on more than one occasion. Thanks to a wonderful step-father, she’s able to pick herself up and move forward. Of course, she still got an edge to her so when she meets Ben he’s not prepared for what she brings to the relationship. Their chemistry is through the roof and, try as they might, they can’t fight it…thankfully!!!
The writing, as always, is great here. One of the things I love about this series and, more specifically about this book, is that the romance is real. It’s not mushy and flowery. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good mushy love scene. But, what’s most important to me is that is fits the story and characters. Here, the author has made sure that the words that leave these character’s mouths are believable and fit with their personalities.
“I want your womanizing mama’s-boy football-player butt all to myself and if I catch you with any Twinkies or beauty queens or anyone else, you’d better run fast because I will hunt you down.”
I guess the bottom line here is that if you haven’t started this series, do yourself a favor and get on it! If you have, then grab this book and make sure you spend some time with Ben and Reese…you’ll love every moment of it!!
