Beautifully Broken series by
Courtney Cole…and we love them all!
Check out our review and don’t
forget the giveaway!!
About the Book:
Ex-Army Ranger, Brand Killien, has always been good.
A good friend, a good soldier, a good everything. .
The problem is, good hasn’t gotten him anything but a crushed heart.
So after licking his wounds, he decides to move on. And moving on doesn’t include being good anymore.
Bad sounds so much better.
Jaded and detached, Brand is determined to never open himself up to anyone again. It’s not worth the pain. Instead, he becomes closed, hardened, aloof.
But then he’s called back home for a family emergency… a family that he is estranged from. A family that he put out of his mind a long time ago for very good reasons…reasons that involve secrets and pain. Reasons he tried hard to forget.
But home is where the heart is, and it just might be where Brand finds his again.
Why? Because home is where Nora Greene is. A fiery, red-headed spitfire, Nora is a thing from his past. A beautiful, feisty thing. When Brand left, she was away at boarding school.
But she’s back now.
And she wants Brand, scars and all.
Ana will put Until We Fly on her top shelf!!!
I’ve been BRANDed!! And, oh, what an experience it was! This book hooked me from the very first page and didn’t let go until I released a long happy breath at the very end. True to form, Courtney Cole has provided us with another hero worth falling in love with. And a story that captures our hearts and imaginations!
If you’ve read the other books in this series, you will recall meeting Brand before as a secondary character. And, let me tell you, I am so glad he got a book of his own. Brand is that unique blend of confident, strong, and mysterious with honorable, kind and tender. *sigh* He has plenty of baggage thanks to a dysfunctional family, unrequited love and time spent defending his country, yet it hasn’t tainted his soul. His beauty really is within! When Brand meets Nora he’s weary…but the sparks fly so high that there’s no way to ignore them. Nora has issues of her own but she also has a focus and, since it’s Brand, the story quickly moves in a direction he’s not expecting. I loved both of these characters and enjoyed the multitude of emotions I felt as I lived their story with them. Both need to make difficult decisions and face their pasts head on. This is no easy task but it’s one of the reasons I enjoyed this book…no tiptoeing around the difficult stuff!
As always, the writing is wonderful and the characters grab you and don’t let go. I guess it’s no surprise that I would recommend this book (heck, the whole series, really) whole-heartedly. Courtney Cole has a way with words and storytelling…and her characters always have their way with my heart! Read it, I think you’ll love it too!
About the Author:
Courtney Cole is a novelist who would eat mythology for breakfast if she could. She has a degree in Business, but has since discovered that corporate America is not nearly as fun to live in as fictional worlds. She loves chocolate and roller coasters and hates waiting and rude people.
Courtney lives in quiet suburbia, close to Lake Michigan, with her real-life Prince Charming, her ornery kids (there is a small chance that they get their orneriness from their mother) and a small domestic zoo.
