Synopsis: Jessica Harper is the epitome of perfection. She’s a good daughter, makes excellent grades, and always strays on the safe side of life. The last thing she thought would ever happen was falling in love with her best friend’s brother. But sometimes fate just has a way of bringing two people together.

Wide receiver for the University of Arizona, Gabe Garcia, seems to have it all. When his feelings for Jessica come to surface, Gabe will give up everything to be with her.

But what happens when a tragedy abruptly changes the course of your life? For Jessica and Gabe, everything they thought they knew about each other will be questioned. Sometimes, there are scars in life that are cut too deep to completely heal.

Will their love prove to be unbreakable, or will it shatter and prove fate is just another lie?

Celeste: 5 up all night long reading stars

So I could talk about the synopsis, the writing, the characters…but let’s just say they were all perfect. Trust me. So now that we covered those items I’ll tell you what I do want to discuss: all my feels as I read this book. And let’s just say I think I got every  single one imaginable.

RANGE OF FEELS (spoiler free!) 1. Kiss her, kiss her, kiss her! 2. Ooooh, yes. More kissing, please and thank you. 3. Oh god, *bites nails* something bad has to happen otherwise the book wouldn’t be so long. *turns each page cautiously* 4. ugggggghhhh. there it is. Shit. 5. cries 6. cries 7. cries more 8. Still crying but something had to give. I get it. I really do. 9. jeez no. He’s hot, but no. Just no. 10. I  am warming up and I might just love him too. Not the same way though. 11. Oh god, I really love him. Heart broken. Well done, Ms. Shea, well done. 12. chokes up *crosses all fingers and toes* 13. Heart fixed. Not perfectly, but it’s fixed. 14. Perfect ending is perfect. Love the middle name *tears up just thinking about it*

15. *starts book 2 IMMEDIATELY*

So, would I rec this? YES! It’s definitely a book with some sensitive material, but it was handled delicately, and most importantly in a way that was raw and real. It was a touching story of friendship, devotion, hope, and healing, but most of all love. I will now read anything Ms. Shea writes.

Ana 5 emotional stars

I almost don’t know where to start.  I guess I could just say ditto to everything that Celeste has said above because, honestly, this was definitely a roller coaster of emotion.  The relationships, the characters, the storyline, the writing…all of it…was great.  I got drawn in from the beginning and fell more and more in love with these characters as the story progressed.

My heart was broken, then it was happy, then it was scared and just a bit confused and, finally, it was happy again.  Both the situations and the reactions of the characters felt real…I could see this happening in real life and I can definitely imagine these types of reactions and emotions.  The interactions between the characters flowed effortlessly and the romance was perfect.  I may have also fallen in love with someone…and am very excited to see that he’s the MC of the second book!!

Overall, this was a great read.  The kind of book you don’t want to put down even when you sense something bad is going to happen…even when you feel like it’s not going the way you want…even when your heart is beating too quickly.  It’s a book you will enjoy from beginning to end! Now…on to book 2!!
