**I received an advance copy from the publisher,
but that did not influence the review**

It’s true. I’m on overload. Speechless. I’m gushing emotions. And feels. Oh Wendy, I looooooved this. ♥ I thought the trilogy ended in the best way possible before, but this exceeded every expectation I had. Getting in Kai’s head was a treat, and this goes down as one of the best series…ever.

As I read Kai’s story I was smiling. It gave me that very rare feeling. That giddy feeling. I dare say it was similar to when I read Midnight Sun. *gasp* Yes, my reader friends, this story is that good.

If you are reading this review you mostly likely read the trilogy and are familiar with the story. So while this book didn’t really have anything new per se, there were things I learned that I clearly didn’t know about before, and it was as if every single piece of the puzzle was put into place and OmgNowMyLifeIsComplete. Ok, so that sounds dramatic, but really, this book is brilliant. I’ve read books that retell a story from a different POV and never has it been done as well as this. EVER!

What made me love it exactly? Besides the obvious fact that we got to know Kai’s dirty thoughts it was that I finally understood that Kai was so terribly conflicted. He was tortured by his draw to Anna. I know we were told that they shouldn’t be together, but I hadn’t expected that he had to fight the urge to stay away from her in such an intense way. I didn’t know he missed her so much. I know that he ended up loving her, but watching him fall in love with Anna was an absolute book lover’s dream, I feel like I got to get the entire experience.

Some parts were told exactly as I recalled from Anna’s POV, except in Kai’s. And let me tell you, some of it was hilarious. I snarfed and giggled my head off  in the beginning at the gonorrhea part. OMG. I’m not ruining anything, I promise. I didn’t expect that and it was SO FUNNY.

Wendy seems so sweet. We’ve all interacted with her online. She reminds me of Anna. Yet the language in this book! Tsk tsk...just teasing, I kind of totally adored the bad language. I’m just giving Wendy a hard time. I absolutely loved that Wendy truly channeled Kai. He has a total potty mouth and it was brilliant.

I have to talk about one final thing. A thing that made me smile. I know, I know, it’s like the millionth thing that made me smile, but this was extra special. I was so excited and giddy that I immediately texted my blogger friends. True book nerd at its best. Around page 100 we meet Celeste. Who is that? She is a character picked by Wendy for a fan appreciation contest. Her post about it is here. I know that this character is not based on me, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited that it was awfully close and I *may* have pretended that fictional Celeste was me and I met Kai and SORRY SPOILER HERE I CAN’T SAY.  *releases breath* Yep. I love Wendy even more for getting her fans involved in her books.

Lastly, would I rec this? HELL WITH ALL THE DUKES IN IT, YES! If you loved Kaidan Rowe this trilogy, this is an absolute must to make your life totally complete. You’ll fall in love even harder than the first time.

Happy reading, luvs!
