What happens in Aspenis definitely not staying in Aspen. . . A girls’ trip to Aspen was exactly what Shay needed to forget about her toxic ex-boyfriend. She’s got her girls, pristine slopes for skiing, and hot guys everywhere. Of course, her epic self-rediscovery goes completely to hell when a wild (and deliciously hot) skier knocks Shay on her ass . . . and war is declared.

Kolton doesn’t know what it is about Shay that makes him lose it. Not just his cool—although she does have an unholy gift for that—but his restraint. When anger gives way to explosive chemistry, they’re both shaken with the intensity of it. But somewhere between lust and hate, Kolton and Shay realize they could have something real . . . if they don’t kill each other first.

If you want to read a book that will make you swoon, smile, and laugh out loud…this is the book for you.  If you want a book that will make your heart beat faster…this is the book for you.  If you want a story that brings the feels…this is the book for you.  So, in conclusion, if you want to be happy, read this book!!

I’m guessing you want to know a little bit more about what makes this a great read so here goes.  I loved the writing in this book.  Ms. Siskind has a way of making you feel like you’re inside the story, experiencing it along with the characters.  The writing has great flow – the current story and snippets of the past live effortlessly in this book.  I never felt that there was too much or too little information, almost like the author understood when I had questions or concerns about the characters’ pasts and gave me what I needed to be able to move on.  Add to this the bits of humor throughout the story and this book definitely placed Ms. Siskind on my “authors to read list”.

The characters were great.  Both had pasts that left them a bit gun-shy about love and, because of this, they needed to be pushed by friends back into the dating pool.  When they met, it was explosive but not insta-love which I really appreciated.  Kolton is the perfect book boyfriend.  He’s sexy and smart and knows when it’s time to do a little wooing.  Shay is sassy and strong.  She’s allowed herself to settle in the past but knows she won’t let it happen again.  Together, their chemistry is hotttt!  They battle their pasts, distance, and uncertainty but, ultimately, they know that what together their lives could be epic.

Overall:

The secondary characters in this book were wonderful as well and I’m happy that it looks like they’ll be getting their own stories.  The chemistry between Kolton, Shay, and their friends is great and I imagine we’ll see a lot more of that in coming books.  This is the beginning of a wonderful series that is the perfect package of romance, humor and feels.  Do yourself a favor and check out this book…I don’t think you’ll regret it!
