Never say never . . .
Romance isn't an option for Holly Greenwood. With her wedding planner career on the line she needs to stay focused, and that means pleasing her demanding boss, not getting distracted by her mind-alteringly hot neighbor . . .
Ex-Marine Kevin Vandemeer craves normalcy. Instead, he has a broken-down old house in need of a match and some gasoline, a meddling family, and the uncanny ability to attract the world's craziest women. At least that last one he can fix: he and his buddies have made a pact to swear off women, and this includes his sweetly sexy new neighbor.
After one hot night that looks a whole lot like a disaster in the light of day, Kevin and Holly are about to learn that true love doesn't play by the rules . . .
The first book in a spin-off from Denise Grover Swank's New York Times bestselling Wedding Pact series!

What do you get when a wedding planner falls for her overbearing boss’ son? Well, you get some angst, some humor and, of course, some delicious romance. This is the first book in the new Bachelor Brotherhood series which is a spin-off of the Wedding Pact series I enjoyed. And, just like the previous series, this book is a fun, read that gave me just the right amount of link to the previous stories and brand new characters to love. I really enjoyed seeing some of my favorite characters from the first books as secondary players in this story. It felt like coming home while still experiencing something new.
I wasn’t sure I cared much for Kevin when I met him in Megan’s book but, lucky for me, there was much more to learn about and to love about him. Kevin was been in a series of unfortunately relationships and has decided to give up on women for the moment. He’s resetting his life back in his old town and has enough on his plate with a money pit of a house that his sister bought for him to live in and renovate. So, when he meets Holly he spends a lot of his time trying to convince himself that this isn’t a good option for him. Thankfully, their chemistry is strong and he soon sees the error or his ways. Holly, on the other hand, doesn’t come around as quickly. She’s desperate to make a name for herself in her chosen career and is willing to deal with Nicole, her difficult boss, for as long as it takes to ensure her success. And, even though she knows that Kevin is a good person to have in her life, the fact that he’s her boss’ son is more risk than she’s originally willing to take.
Overall, this was a light read with characters who were easy to like. The story was both sweet and had moments of tension and sadness. This is shaping up to be another great series by Ms. Swank – one that will make you smile, sigh and swoon. You can’t ask for more than that in a romance story.
