Lia and Rafe have escaped Venda and the path before them is winding and dangerous - what will happen now?

This third and final book in The Remnant Chronicles is not to be missed.

Bestselling author Mary E. Pearson's combination of intrigue, suspense, romance and action make this a riveting page turner for teens.

Quick Thoughts and Rating: 5 stars! This book was a brilliant conclusion to this beloved trilogy and an excellent read all on its own. I loved seeing the final evolution of the series arc and how far these characters have come as a unit and as individuals. I wouldn’t call it exactly “perfect” because I wanted just a tad more from the ending, but it was super satisfying!

Review: With this being the final installment of a trilogy and wrapping up so many specific secrets that have been kept hidden throughout each book, there isn’t exactly a whole lot that I can divulge in this section. I will say that even though Lia has been a complete badass in this trilogy up until this last part, I really enjoyed seeing her fulfill her role and accept her destiny even more in this book, especially after seeing her a little broken and vulnerable in the beginning of this novel. In fact, there were quite a few times that I had to set down my hardcover and fistpump the sky because my girl was dishing out some serious woman power, and I was all about that!

As for the other characters, they definitely go through their own transitions, settling into their own positions and making strides to be the type of person they wanted/should have been all along. I loved watching the progression of everyone and seeing how their new roles would influence the way the plot would play out. Speaking of plot, Pearson continued to do an impressive job of weaving this deeply deceitful tale around us and when all the big players of the ruthless scheme were brought to the forefront, well let’s just say there were many gasps of wonderment.

This book was filled with heart-thumping action, upsetting betrayals, and delightful camaraderie, set in a brutally majestic world that held me spellbound with each turn of the page. This author does an amazing job of spinning her story, setting a natural, flowing pace (that I tried to fight because I wanted to savor this last book) that easily transitioned from each POV and kept me interested for the entirety of the book. It was a real struggle to set this down or finding stopping points at times when I was supposed to be attending real life responsibilities like driving to pick my kids up at school. (No, you were sneaking in a line or two at a red light, not me.)

All in all, this was a fantastic conclusion to a trilogy that I fell in love with over three years ago from the very first chapter and after a quick glimpse of our main characters. That said, if I had one tiny little issue, it was that I would have loved to finally see these two get together officially *cough*wed*cough* and see how they ran their kingdoms jointly. Other than that minuscule complaint, I was content with how everything played out and could easily imagine what the future held for all these characters that I had grown to love.

Teaser Quote: This one won’t mean much to you out of context, but when he said it in the book, I definitely swooned.

Rec It? Yes! In fact, I think this is a trilogy that shouldn’t be missed. Ms. Pearson first captured my attention with her unique delivery of the first book and had me begging for more with every installment after. This is definitely a world and characters that I’m sad to see go, but the good thing about this trilogy is that it has amazing re-readability potential, so I won’t have to stay departed from my pretties forever.

I absolutely cannot wait to see what new world and words Ms. Pearson will give us next. She’s an auto-read for me, so I’ll be waiting no matter how long it takes!
