5 Gold Stars!!

I can’t get enough of Sarina Bowen’s hockey boys!!  Once again, she’s given me a sexy, complex, somewhat troubled man to love.  And, thankfully, he’s met his match in a sassy, smart woman.  Though both have messy lives, their chemistry is undeniable and, even with the whirlwind that surrounds them, they cannot be kept apart.

Ari is the team’s yoga instructor and massage therapist and Patrick O’Doul is the team captain.  Due to a lingering injury, he’s forced to spend some time on her massage table.  And, although that sounds like fun to most of us, for Doulie it’s difficult.  He carries a lot of baggage from his past and is not fond of being touched…and you can’t massage muscles without touching.  Thankfully, Ari has a few tricks up her sleeve.  She’s caring and knowledgeable and is the only one who can put him at ease.  And, through these appointments, they learn about each other and discover their mutual attraction.  The fact that she was so gentle with him and so aware of what he might and might not like was fantastic.  It made her so real, I admired her…and it made me want to be her friend.  But, as great as Ari was, I don’t want to miss telling you about the amazing Patrick O’Doul.  Yes, he was sexy, hot, swoonworthy, and ridiculously good looking.  But it’s his protective side, evident throughout this book, that made my heart pitter-patter and definitely made me sigh with contentment.  Ari is dealing with an aggressive ex-boyfriend and Patrick is her knight in shining armor, looking out for her, caring for her, and making her feel safe.  Every girl needs a Patrick O’Doul.

Overall:

In this story, Ari and Patrick need to learn to deal with their pasts and look forward to the future.  They must acknowledge that they need each other and that they can bring happiness into each others’ lives.  This is a roller coaster of a ride…it’s definitely darker than the first book and tackles some real life issues.  It brings a hit of drama with a whole lot of romance.  And, ultimately, it shows us once again that Ms. Bowen is a master at writing sweet, sexy, sports stories that will have you sighing, smiling, and your heart beating wildly.  It’s all very good here people…you need to check it out!!
