Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs. Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score. But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Just as I expected, Blake’s book is full of fun, laughter, silliness, sweetness, and sexy times. It’s got a bit of everything and brings all the feels – both light and serious. Blake is a force to be reckoned with. He lives his life in high definition and at the highest decibel possible. He’s happy, fierce, and always in your face. At times this makes him annoying to people around him but, those who take the time to get to know him soon realize that there’s depth there…there’s some baggage there…and there’s a whole lot to love. Cheezus, he’s great!!

Jess believes herself to be the screw-up of the Canning family, the child who disappoints every time, and she’s trying very hard to put that behind her. As the wedding planner for her bother Jamie and his fiance Wes (who we met and loved in the Us series), she wants to pull off the best day ever and is hoping to get her life on track. As she struggles with the fact that she’s not enjoying the job, Blake re-enters her life and that’s when the fun really begins.
Their chemistry is hot and, when Blake realizes that he likes her…a lot…we watch his laser focus become set on having her. Of course, both of them have issues they’re dealing with and through their stuggles we realize how much strength each of them has. Blake’s commitment and loyalty to his family, and even to some who don’t deserve it, endears him to the reader even more than his great big personality. It’s wonderful to see what he’s like when he lets you peek behind the wall.
Be ready to laugh, to swoon, to roll your eyes, and to shake your head. Be ready to be consumed by Blake’s exuberance and by the swoony romance. Be ready to fan yourself…several times. Get ready for an over-the-top family and some silly situations. But, most of all, be ready to enjoy this fun, sexy, sweet love story. I can’t wait to see what these amazing authors bring us next!
