The struggle is real.  The heartbreak, the angst, the undeniable attraction, the romance, the uncertainty, the love…they’re all real!  This story grabbed my emotions and held them hostage – I couldn’t be sure from one page to the next whether I’d be smiling or sobbing.  There was heartache and sadness, and there was no quick fix.  So I suffered along with Landon and Rachel, my heart broke along with theirs, and grabbed on to every fleeting piece of joy…in short, I loved every single word!

Overall:

We met Landon (Nova) in book one of this series and heard just a little about his background, enough to understand that he was hurting.  What we learn in this book is why.  We begin to understand that some of the heartbreak is of his own doing and that now he’s living with the pain.  And masking it by being a player…a “casanova”.  When Rachel comes on the scene, we quickly understand that their history is the cause of both their unhappiness and of their broken hearts.  But Landon refuses to believe that they can’t get past their, well, past.  As these two come to terms with once again being together and having to face their pain, we’re treated to a story with so many dimensions and so much emotion that it’s difficult, if not impossible, to put down.

I loved Landon and his determination.  I loved Rachel and her strength.  And I loved seeing Wilder, Leah, and the rest of the Renegade family.  Ms. Yarros puts her readers right into the action of extreme sports…and she captures them with the romance, the heartbreak, and the angst of the love story.  This is a great series and I can’t wait for the next book!
