“Read Claudia Connor for a consistently raw and emotional love story,” recommends Carly Phillips. Now the swoon-worthy McKinney Brothers series from this bestselling author continues as JT, the youngest of the trio, discovers that only love can make him whole.
She’s fighting for control. . . . Paige Roberts learned to fend for herself growing up. Now she’s doing everything possible to give her daughter, Casey, the stability she never had. But when the vivacious five-year-old decides she’s done wearing her prosthesis, Paige faces her toughest challenge yet: trusting a handsome, brooding stranger who simply wants to help.
He’s struggling to connect. . . . JT McKinney lost more than his leg in a car accident that stole his dreams of pro football. Eight years later, he's made a new life for himself far away from his old one. His business is developing cutting-edge prosthetics and he’s more than happy to turn his attention to machines instead of people. Still, he can’t shake the feeling that something’s missing.
Will they take a chance on love? . . . When JT gets the chance to help Paige’s daughter, he takes it. He never planned on the two of them tearing down his walls or teaching him to believe in himself again. Paige might not believe in happily ever afters, but JT wants more than anything to be her prince. They’ll both have to let go of the past if they want a future.

This is the third book in this series and, as you probably predicted if you’ve read my reviews before, I once again failed to start a series from the beginning.  However, in this case, it did not make the story any less enjoyable.  Actually, it made me want to go back to read the ones I’ve missed because I think I may have fallen in love with the McKinney brothers!  This sweet love story is about Jake, the youngest brother and, if his older brothers have the same loving heart he has, I definitely need to read their stories.

This book had such a sweet vibe.  The romance between Jake and Paige was a slow burn.  Neither was looking, or ready, for love but their chemistry was strong.  I absolutely adored Casey, Paige’s daughter, and Jake’s interactions with her melted my heart every time.  Jake was caring, swoonworthy, and sexy…I think every girl deserves a Jake in her life.  The way he cared for Paige and Casey, well, let’s just say he was a knight in shining armor!  Paige was strong and determined woman who worked hard to make a better life for her and her daughter.  She had a plan and didn’t want to  be distracted.  Lucky for her, being distracted by Jake turns out to be lots of fun!  Although their path to happiness had a few bumps, the ride was a pleasure.  I enjoyed watching this couple find their HEA.

If you’re looking for a feel-good romance with a super swoony leading man, an intelligent woman, a sassy young girl, and a huge wonderful extended family, then this is definitely the book for you.  There’s a lot to love here and I know it won’t be the last McKinney Brothers book I read!!
