Can you fall in love with someone you've never even met? Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch–an anonymous virtual assistant service–is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson. Although it's against the rules for her to check his file, she's 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting…until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic. Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He's still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth–that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won't show her pretty face. But it's nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can't fix. Hailey can't resist the offer. Matt can't resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn't have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

Warning: Contains rabid hockey fans, misunderstood dick pics, hockey players at the opera and exploding ovaries.

I’m always all kinds of happy when I have a Sarina Bowen or Elle Kennedy book in my hands…but, a book by both of them, well, that’s pure magic!  These two write stories with the perfect balance of swoon, humor, and realism.  Their characters feel like real people I’d like to get to know, and their situations are easy to relate to.  Yes, I’ll admit that my favorite hockey player never fell in love with me, but those butterflies and flutters that they write about, the ones that occur when you meet the right person, they are totally on the mark.   This is yet another book by this duo that delivered exactly what it promised…strong characters, sweet and sexy times, and all the feels.

Book Rating Breakdown
General Book Feels

I loved both of these main characters.  Matt and Hailey were mature, smart, and strong.  Each had been through a lot in their lives and were trying to deal with the arduous task of moving forward.  And, because they both were unsure about their futures, this was a slow burn romance.  They took their time falling in love and I absolutely adored that.  Matt was the perfect guy…sexy and self-assured, but still vulnerable and a bit confused about his life.  The way he treated Hailey with all the softness and sweetness was absolutely sigh-worthy.  And, of course, his interactions with his young daughters just melted my heart.  Any girl would be lucky to have a Matt in their lives.  I adored Hailey as well.  Even though she was bouncing back from a difficult time in her life, I could see from the very beginning that she had a certain boldness about her.  She definitely goes on my list of favorite characters!  Together these two warmed my heart and set fire to my kindle.  They had amazing chemistry, but it was more than that…their banter was funny and heartwarming, their fears were genuine, and their road to happiness had its fair share of bumps.

And, can I just say that having this book set in a city that I know well makes me giddy!  As each landmark is described, I’m immediately there, as each location is mentioned, I can picture it, and each time the hockey team wins, I pretend it’s real…such a fun element of this story for me.

If you haven’t read any books by these two authors (together or apart), you absolutely must!  This series and the one that came before it are on my shelf of favorites and I know these are books I’ll want to read again and again.  Do yourself a favor and get to know Matt and Hailey…but more importantly, get to know Sarina and Elle…you can thank me for it later!
