There’s no way I’ll fall for Wyatt Hennington.
He can keep his Southern drawl, irresistible smile, and those pick-up lines all to himself. I made the mistake of sleeping with him not once, but twice. I’m not stupid enough to give him round three, especially after he left me in the middle of the night so I could see myself out. I vow to return to Philadelphia and forget him.
It proves easier said than done.
When the doctor informs me I’m the winner of door prize number two, I put my life on hold and head back to Bell Buckle. Three months and if we can’t make this work, I’m gone.
The problem is—when the cards are stacked against us, and I can’t bring myself to leave him, I’ll finally know if he truly loves me or if all my fears were real . . .
This was such a great read. What starts out as a fun romance between a swoony, southern cowboy and a feisty, independent woman turns into an emotional roller coaster because of a twist in the story. Be prepared with some tissues folks, this one will likely make you misty.
Angie doesn’t want to change her life just because she’s discovered that she’s pregnant. Wyatt wants to take care of her and have her and the baby in his life. And so begins the dance…an independent woman who has trouble coming to terms with changing her life battles a warm-hearted man who wants to give it a try. These two had great chemistry and I loved their banter. Wyatt is so committed to making this relationship work that I couldn’t help but sigh. He works tirelessly to convince Angie that their relationship is worth the effort and the way he treats her melted my heart. He’s sexy, smarty, swoony, and sweet. He’s definitely the kind of guy every woman deserves. And, when his heart breaks…mine breaks along with it. I could also see Angie’s point of view as I moved through the story. Packing up her life and heading into the unknown, on top of being pregnant, is quite scary. I really enjoyed seeing her come to terms with what she wanted and figuring out how to grab it. As these two work out their issues, we’re treated to meeting their friends and family. Some we love, some we don’t…but they all add depth and realism to the story.
This is the second book in this series and, of course, once again, I’ve not read the first book. But, if it’s anything like this one, I’ll definitely dive in soon. I loved Angie and Wyatt’s story and, even days after finishing the book, it still brings a smile to my face. This is definitely a story worth spending some time with.
