He puts the "screw" in screwball comedy…
At thirty-four, I’m reeling from a divorce. I don’t want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn’s Dips and Balls.
But my friends aren’t having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I’m still taking a hard pass.
Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer.
Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don't expect me to actually go through with it.
All I need right now is some peace and quiet while my home renovation TV show is on hiatus. But when a curvy woman in a red wrap dress charges me like she’s a gymnast about to mount my high bar, all I can do is brace myself and catch her. What follows is the hottest experience of my adult life.
I want a repeat, but my flying Cinderella disappears immediately afterward. She doesn’t leave a glass slipper, either—just a pair of panties with chocolate bunnies printed on them.
But I will find her.
I giggled all the way through this book! What a funny, sweet, sexy ride! Sarina Bowen is a go-to author for me…if she writes it, I will read it. I’ve never read anything by Tanya Eby but, lucky for me, she and Sarina make a perfect pair. This joint venture was a breath of fresh air. The characters were fun, and didn’t take themselves to seriously, and the story line was definitely unique.
Brynn, a recently divorced thirty-something, is not really in the market to move on just yet. However, her friends have different ideas and, next thing she knows, she’s run into Tom…quite literally. Tom, a tv personality, is off women for the moment but, unfortunately (or is it fortunately) for him, Brynn is no typical gal. When these two meet, it’s explosive. And, although there is some awesome humor in this book, there are also some serious topics covered. Most importantly, how do you get over a broken heart. Both these characters have baggage and their own issues to deal with but, together, they begin to see the way forward. I loved their chemistry and their banter. And, of course, their romance was such fun. As an avid home improvement show watcher, I could picture Tom in all his handyman glory and I loved every minute of it. Gotta love a man in a tool belt!
I can’t wait to see what these two authors have in store for me next! I hope the next installment has another super sexy book boyfriend, another sassy leading lady, and enough humor to have me laughing out loud no matter where I am. This book certainly did and I’m expecting the next one will too. Can’t wait!!
