Brooklyn used to trust everyone. That was until she was left at the altar and had to fend for herself. The list was long. Finding a new place to live was top priority. But things could be worse as she mends her broken heart. Not every jilted bride gets a hottie next-door neighbor who is more than willing to lend her a hand--in forgetting her ex that is. But what does she REALLY know about the latest man in her life and can she REALLY trust him?

I love the Baileys…this huge, loving family who are up in each others’ business in the best way, make this story both heartfelt and entertaining.  These brothers and sisters support each other and have each others’ backs like no other I’ve read before.  And I was so happy to spend some time with them again in this, the second book in the series.  And, as I was expecting, each of the Baileys played a key role in helping Brooklyn get over being left at the alter and pushed her forward towards a brighter future.  This really is the family of everyone’s dreams.

But, much as I gush about the Baileys, I was happy to focus on Brooklyn in this story.  Although sad and confused by being dumped on her wedding day, she quickly understands that she deserves more.  And, even though she’s not looking to get back on the horse immediately, she’s open and curious about what will happen next in her life.  She’s a smart and sassy character, just the kind of person you’d love to have as a best friend.  Of course, you know what always happens when you’re not looking for love…it finds you.  Enter Wyatt…sigh!  Wyatt is swoony, sexy, and dreamy.  And, he’s got a secret.  But that doesn’t stop him from being intrigued by his new neighbor, Brooklyn, and slowly but surely working his way into her heart.  Their romance is a slow simmer…a friends first kind of story, and I loved every moment of it.  These two had great chemistry and  were drawn to each other in every way.  I couldn’t put the book down.

I’m so glad I found Piper Rayne’s books and I know that I will be spending many happy hours with her characters.  The writing is fantastic and the stories are fun while still packing an emotional punch.  Lucky for me, I’ve already got book 3 waiting for me on my kindle.  I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Bailey world!
