Sometimes lady luck shakes your hand, and sometimes she smacks your face. Sometimes she does both on the same day.

Three years ago I met the most amazing girl in the world. We were both down on our luck. Then I got that call—the one that tells you to get your buns on a plane to go meet your destiny.

But the girl was left behind. I didn’t have her phone number, and she didn’t know my real name.

While I became a professional hockey player, she became a superstar, with platinum records and legions of fans. And a slick, music producer boyfriend who treated her badly.

But fate wasn’t done with us yet. When Delilah turns up at a hockey game, I can’t resist making contact. The internet swoons when I ask her out on a date.

She might not remember me. But her jerkface ex does. He’ll do anything to keep us apart.

Good thing athletes never give up. This time I’m playing for keeps.

Thanks to the glimpses we got of Silas in the past, I’ve been anxiously awaiting his story.  In the first place, he’s the sweetest, swooniest guy you’ll ever meet – every scene with Silas is guaranteed to melt your heart.  Secondly, I was so curious about his obsession with Delilah Spark and knew that there had to be a great story to be told.  And, boy was I right.  A hockey player and a recording artist who have more in common than anyone thinks.  These two have quite a history and now is the time to deal with the fireworks!

I loved everything about this book.  The chemistry between Silas and Delilah, the romance, the banter, and their willingness to take a chance on what could be a tricky relationship, had me turning the pages furiously.  Silas had such patience as he waited for Delilah to come to the realization that this is what she needed…what she wanted.  And I was there with him, sighing each time he showed us that his heart was right there on his sleeve.  Once again, Sarina Bowen has given me a book boyfriend to add to my list…and Silas is right up there near the top!  I thought Silas and Delilah were perfect for each other and I loved watching these two rediscover each other.  I also enjoyed seeing some of my other favorites from this series and watching them support and love each other.  One great thing about reading these books is knowing that you’ll have the pleasure of spending time with characters you’ve fallen in love with in the past.  This hockey team is truly a family.

I love Ms. Bowen’s books and I hope that’s she’s still got a few more Brooklyn Bruisers stories to tell.  These characters and her writing keep me coming back again and again.  If you haven’t read a Sarina Bowen book, you’re definitely missing something special.  Do yourself a favor and go get one…but, if you choose this one, remember, Silas is mine!
