The Arizona Vengeance is hockey’s hottest new team. But hockey’s hottest goalie is learning that even the best players sometimes need an assist.

Everything is clicking for the Vengeance. We may be new, but we’re well on our way to winning the championship, and I’m having the time of my life headlining the sports media as the hottest goalie—hell, player—ever. I for one am going to live up to my name . . . because I am Legend Bay.

Dragging my ass home from the gym, I’m blinded by some gaudy, glowing holiday lights. As usual, my hot-as-hell neighbor Pepper Nantais has gone way over the top. But just as I’m about to tell her off, something else catches my eye . . . Seems like Santa left me a present, and not one I was expecting.

As life takes an unexpected turn, I realize that there’s much more to Pepper than meets the eye. Sure, she’s gorgeous. And exasperating. And her taste in decorating may be a bit . . . unique. But beneath her carefree demeanor is a fierce determination and a heart of gold. And before I know it I’ve fallen for her. Hard . . .

Pepper is exactly the woman I never knew I needed.

I’m very behind on this series but, in a way, that’s a good thing.  It means that whenever I feel the urge to read about a sexy hockey player, there’s a book immediately available to me.  The Arizona Vengeance is a series of great stand alone books that can bring you back into this fun world, no matter which order you read them in.  This particular story was about Legend, the team’s goalie, and the neighbor he loves to hate…and eventually loves to love.  Once again, we’re treated to the interactions between the players and we get to watch not only romantic love play out but also the friendships that are so important within this series.

I absolutely loved Pepper.  She was fun-loving, eccentric, and vibrant…everything that drives Legend crazy.  Her ability to push his buttons was such a fun element to this story but it was her strength and unwaivering support for him that really showed her character.  Legend, as with all the guys in this series, is a sexy, tough guy on the outside but a soft teddy bear on the inside.  Watching him become a father and come to terms with his new responsibilities made me all warm and gushy inside.  Is there anything better than a tough guy who immediately fall in love and becomes protective of his child?  I think not.  Together, Legend and Pepper had amazing chemistry and an undeniable attraction.  I really enjoyed the push and pull that they went through to find their happily ever after.

Overall, these are really fun books.  If you enjoy a good romance, with a touch of that sports-themed camaraderie, and some sizzling good times, this is definitely a series you should try! And, if you enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers story, then you’ll want to start right here with Legend’s story.  Enjoy!
