Summer nights and star-crossed lovers! From USA Today bestselling author Sarina Bowen. Once upon a time, he gave me a summer of friendship, followed by one perfect night. We shared a lot during our short time together. But he skipped a few crucial details. I didn’t know he was a rock star. I didn’t know his real name. Neither of us knew I’d get pregnant. And I sure never expected to see him again.

Five years later, his tour bus pulls up in Nest Lake, Maine. My little world is about to be shattered by loud music and the pounding of my own foolish heart.

There was so much to love here. First, it’s a Sarina Bowen book so I knew I could expect fantastic writing and great characters.  Secondly, the story was fun and emotional…filled with drama and romance.  What more can you ask for?  This is the first in a series of three books being written by three fantastic authors and, as the first in the series, this story sets the stage for some awesome rockstar romances filled with angst and sizzle.

Jonas, a musician who’s lost his mojo and needs a break, spends a summer in a small town.  There he meets Kira, a girl who’s broken and needs a friend.  Together they help each other heal and, when the summer ends they go their separate ways.  Five years later, Jonas returns and learns that Kira is still in town…and she’s got a huge secret.  As we watch them deal with their present struggles and remember their past romance, it’s very clear that there are still sparks and that they can be together if they can get passed the drama of their situation.  I loved Jonas and his honesty about his feelings.  In his mind, Kira was the one who got away and he wasn’t about to let that happen again.  I really enjoyed the push and pull of this story and, of course, really enjoyed their romance.

As always, Ms. Bowen gave us great secondary characters.  I loved Ethan, Adam, and Vivi – they added so much to the story and I enjoyed every scene they were in.  Overall, this was a fantastic read and the beginning of what I know will be a wonderful series of books.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!
