Today, we’re happy to be part
of the blog tour for
Release (Protector #3)
by M.R. Merrick
This book has just been released and
is the third in a great series!!
Title: Release
Author: M.R. Merrick
Published: After uniting the shifters and calling in reinforcements, Chase has to face his toughest challenge yet: learning to control his emotions. But as tensions rise and his powers grow, controlling his emotions becomes the least of his problems.
Terrorized by a multi-shifter who is hell-bent on turning him, Chase questions just how far he’s willing to go to stop his father. Meanwhile, Tiki’s virtuous nature has placed him in the middle of Vincent’s past, leaving Chase to oppose a senate of vampires and defend a demon he hates.
Trying to balance his friends, his enemies, and his inner demons, Chase is left searching for answers about the Mark, his destiny, and where he can find the next soul piece. Stopping Riley is his top priority, but as more obstacles arise, he finds himself doubting all the decisions he’s made – especially regarding Rayna.
One thing is for certain: Chase has finally realized that he doesn’t know anything. The light doesn’t always quell the darkness, the monsters don’t always stay in the shadows, and the past doesn’t always stay in the past – sometimes, the demons inside are the hardest to fight.
Ana will put Release on her top shelf!!
My Review: I know what I was expecting from this book and I got it…and more. Adventure, twists and turns and loads of mystery were my expectations but
deep dives into the characters that gave me a more profound understanding of their lives and their actions was a definite bonus. I feel like the characters all grew exponentially in this book. Everyone’s story became a little bit clearer, either through their own stories or circumstances that gave me a peek into their pasts. It’s not often that a book can give you pages of character development and yet not feel slow, but Mr. Merrick has managed just that.
Of course, the action packed story continues. The worlds created by the author continue to offer a myriad of scary and fascinating creatures in a vivid, colorful way. And the elemental magic in these books constantly leaves me fascinated. Of course, as this story continues, Riley is still focused on his evil pursuits and our heroes, focused on finding a way to stop him.
Chase is facing even more in this installment. As the protector he’s asked to help friend and foe alike and this pushes him beyond his limits at times. His relationship with Rayna continues to move slowly but, with everything they’re up against, it can’t be helped. Rayna’s powers continue to develop and she learns something quite interesting about herself in this book. I think I may have mentioned my love for Willy and that does not change in this book…he’s still a wonderful character and great friend. What did change is that my love for Tiki grew through learning more about his past and seeing his desire to help both Chase and Vincent. And, speaking of Vincent, he’s in quite a pickle in this book because his “biological” family has come into the picture.
So much happens in this story and there may have been some tearful moments. This is one of those rare series that continue to get better as the story progresses. Pick it up…you won’t be sorry!
And now for the amazing GIVEAWAY…good luck!!

@glamourlory
These books are great…and keep getting better!
Thanks for stopping by!
Unicorns of course. Do I really need to explain why? *grins*
The Fae and Nymphs have a great appeal because they are alluring and most often beautiful (in most books I’ve read). Oh and the Phoenix is probably my most favorite mythical animal because obviously it’s beautiful, fierce and let’s be honest, IT’s on fire, how cool is that!
hmmm…do angels count?
That, or fairies
Pegasus!
I think fairies. They are so cute and tiny
I sooooooooo wanna read this! Sounds so good!
Hellhounds! They scare the crap out of me – love it!
